Psychedelic jam band Uncle Charlie and the Blue Dragon Tavern presents ‘A Celebration of Jerry Garcia’.

Jerry Garcia, best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist of the Grateful Dead, a band he co-founded in San Francisco, was an icon of the 1960s counterculture. Known for his soulful, extended, and jazz-influenced improvisations, Garcia blended rock, folk, bluegrass, and blues into a uniquely psychedelic sound. His musical legacy lives on through his extensive catalog and the ongoing cultural influence of the Dead.

Uncle Charlie will be performing selections from the Grateful Dead songbook that featured Jerry as the lead vocalist. From the band: “We will be celebrating Jerry with some Days Between shows in August, but those shows are in Kona and Hilo, and we wanted to give our Deadhead fam in the Kohala area a chance to celebrate Jerry with us at the Blue Dragon.”
